Before commencing the enrolment process for Prep, use the online calculator accessible through this link: https://www.qld.gov.au/education/earlychildhood/prep/enrolments to check your child is age appropriate for Prep enrolment.

Children must turn five by 30 June in the year they enrol.

Please note the beginning information on this Department of Education website and be aware that prep is the foundation year of formal schooling and is a fulltime school day (9.00-3.00) for five days each week and is based on the delivery of the Australian Curriculum.

Prep is the first year of school and provides the foundation for your child's education. It is compulsory for Queensland children to undertake Prep prior to Year 1. Prep is a full-time program in primary schools and has a defined curriculum. Children attend Monday to Friday, generally from 9:00AM to 3:00PM.
