Ripley Valley State School is registered and ready to go!
Reading can be independent reading or reading shared by others The text can be print, braille or on-line in English or home language.
The text can be stories, novels, picture story books, graphic novels, comics, newspapers, magazines, recipes, instructions.
Students start reading on the 1st of June and finish on the 25th of August 2023.
At the end of the challenge a certificate is signed by the premier and presented to every student who completes their reading record form and has third party consent (third-party consent forms are available on QParents). Certificates arrive in October.
To take part in the challenge:
Parents sign the third-party consent form in QParents by Monday the 5th June.
(if you have signed a third-party consent form for ClassDojo, this form is similar)
All students can read and participate however only students with third-party consent can receive a certificate from the Premier.
Teachers provide every student with a reading record.
All students will read and read and read!
Record what has been read and bring it back to your teacher.
To complete the challenge:
- Prep to Year 2 must read or experience at least 20 books
- Years 3 and 4 must read at least 20 books
- Years 5 to 9 must read at least 15 books.
Remember:
Sign the third-party consent form on QParents.
Certificates signed by the Premier require third-party consent.
